Report: Detroit Youth Need Stronger Education-to-career Pathways

DBusiness featured Detroit Future City’s new report, Career-Connected Learning: Investing in Detroit’s Future Talent, which examines how Detroit’s education, workforce, and community systems can better connect young people to meaningful career pathways. Developed in partnership with the Youth Policy Lab and funded by the Skillman Foundation, the report identifies key opportunities to strengthen career exploration, mentorship, work-based learning, and coordination across schools, employers, and community organizations.

The story includes insights from Detroit Future City CEO Anika Goss, who notes that while Detroit has no shortage of talent, too many young people still lack clear connections between what they learn in school and the careers available to them.
