Detroit Future City’s Community & Economic Development department combines original research, cross-sector collaboration, technical assistance, and policy development to foster a more equitable and sustainable city. Currently, we serve as the backbone organization for the Detroit Neighborhood Housing Compact, a collaborative of industry and community leaders working collectively to improve housing quality and affordability in Detroit neighborhoods, for both renters and homeowners. We also promote innovative strategies for equitable redevelopment of Detroit’s aging industrial districts to attract good-paying jobs that are accessible to Detroiters, while promoting a healthier environment for nearby residents.Signup for our e-newsletter here
Detroit Neighborhood Housing Compact
The Compact brings together a diverse group of public, private, and non-profit stakeholders to focus on improving the state of single-family housing in Detroit neighborhoods. Through monthly working group meetings, open to anyone who shares a passion for equitable housing solutions, the Compact is working to make housing more affordable for low- and moderate-income Detroiters, while also ensuring that stable and healthy housing is available for all.

Our Rental Work Group meets from 9:00am to 10:30am and our Homeownership Work Group meets from 10:45am to 12:15pm via ZOOM on the third Tuesday of each month.
