Purpose: 

This workshop will discuss the benefits of placemaking and how transforming vacant spaces can create a sense of place in a neighborhood and provide the community with a place to gather. Tips for raising funds, engaging the community in the placemaking planning process, event logistics, and place keeping will be covered. Through hands-on activities, we’ll share ways to incorporate different types of art and structures to engage the community and enhance a space.
