Join the Land + Water WORKS Coalition (LWWC) to build the green culture shift movement in shift movement. LWWC is currently seeking neighborhood leaders and community-based organizations from across the city of Detroit to apply to serve as 2019 Land + Water WORKS Ambassadors! The LWWC will select 20 individuals and 10 non-profit organizations serving Detroiters to engage community members and local stakeholders in their neighborhoods and service areas.

 

In this role, residents and local non-profits serving Detroiter’s will receive extensive training on land use, stormwater management and green stormwater infrastructure and the role we all play in creating a more sustainable Detroit.  Over the course of nine months, ambassadors will work to engage 10,000 Detroiter’s participate in meaningful conversations and activities that increase their knowledge and understanding of land and water stewardship resulting in a greater understanding of these issues and increased implementation of GSI practices.

Land +Water WORKS Ambassadors will:

  • Become neighborhood experts in green stormwater infrastructure and its benefits to Detroit
  • Educate fellow community members and stakeholders on our water system, the importance of land and water stewardship and the role we all have in helping Detroit become a more sustainable, healthy and vibrant city.
  • Build relationships with neighbors, community businesses, faith-based organizations, and fellow ambassadors
  • Get paid to educate and engage with Detroiters in your community network with individuals earning up to $1,100 and organizations earning up to $5,000 for participating in the program.
