The “State of Micro and Small Businesses in the Detroit Region” report provides insight into the outlooks, challenges, and goals of Detroit-region small businesses, based on 1,235 survey responses from small business owners in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. These survey respondents represent primarily microbusinesses and business owners of color.  The report can inform how the business ecosystem can support small businesses and expand economic activity throughout the region.

The “State of Micro and Small Businesses in the Detroit Region” report is a publication of DFC’s Center for Equity, Engagement and Research. The survey data was completed by the New Economy Initiative and Invest Detroit’s Business Support Network Office in partnership with JFM Consulting.
