Detroit Future City along with the East Ferry Warren Community Association came together to undertake a yearlong green space planning project – which resulted in an in-depth 50-page report. Detroit Future City gathered data in the neighborhood through two public workshops and a neighborhood survey in spring 2020.
This report not only illustrates the green space visioning process but also shows the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic within their project. Within the brief, green space is defined as an area of grass, trees, or other vegetation reserved and maintained for recreational or aesthetic purposes in an otherwise urban environment.
