The East Ferry Warren: United by Dreams & Design tour and panel discussion will highlight the work of Detroit Future City with residents and non-profits in the East Ferry Warren community to develop and implement a resilient community-driven neighborhood green space vision. The East Ferry Warren neighborhood has seen population loss and disinvestment by the public and private sectors over the last 30 years, leaving residents to create a community transformation of their own. This revitalization is centered on the dreams of the community to be a place of joy and peace. This event will highlight the collaborative process undertaken in developing the visioning plan and provide a tour of green space projects from the plan. In partnership with community partners, Arboretum Detroit, East Ferry Warren Association, and Field Temple, we will highlight the projects below.

Two guided walking tours will take place from 4 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.

– Green Loop Pathway

– Treetroit Nursery

– Oxygen Alley

Following the tour will be a panel discussion held at Hunt Street Station from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. The panel discussion will feature local community-based land leaders and the City of Detroit Planning & Development Department. Panelists will share insights into the process of designing an inclusive community driven land use vision along with the challenges and success faced by the community to make the plan a reality.
