Detroit’s unemployment rate drops below 6% for first time in 23 years

In this Detroit Metro Times article, Steve Neavling shares that despite the job growth in Detroit, Detroit’s unemployment rate has dropped, and the job opportunities haven’t been equal. Neavling references DFC’s report, “Growth Occupations: Opportunities for more equitable participation in Detroit’s Growing Economy,” that found that metro Detroit’s fastest-growing, well-paying jobs are disproportionately going to white workers.
