Allandra Bulger serves as Deputy Director for Detroit Future City (DFC). In this role, Allandra manages DFC’s strategic priorities, internal operations and fiscal affairs. She develops and manages the organization’s budget, and provides general oversight of agency finances, procurement, contracts and facilities.
Allandra has been with DFC since its inception, joining through the Detroit Revitalization Fellows Program as a cohort II fellow from 2013 to 2015. During her fellowship, Allandra worked on initiatives focused on participatory implementation, including providing engagement support to neighborhoods, city systems, land use and economic development initiatives.
Allandra has held a number of leadership positions in community based organizations including managing the Title IV-E Funding Program of the Wayne County Juvenile Assessment Center, where her work with administrative and fiscal controls systems resulted in securing more than five million dollars in federal reimbursements to local community agencies. She also worked as a consultant at DEXDesign Associates, where she specialized in developing and delivering capacity building technical assistance to community based nonprofit organizations and small businesses. At DEXDesign, she collaborated with New Detroit Inc. and the Skillman Foundation to develop programs, services, and community economic development activities.
Allandra has a master’s degree in public administration specializing in nonprofit organization and management from Oakland University, and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
