SUMMARY:Equity in Advanced Mobility Call to Action Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Detroit Future City and The Employment Equity Learning and Action Collaborative (EELAC) are joining forces to host an Equity in Advanced Mobility Call to Action Symposium that promotes employment equity and economic opportunity in the advanced mobility sector for Historically Excluded Communities across the Southeast Michigan Region. \nThe event will build on the momentum already underway in our region that has been fueled by large federal\, state\, and private sector investments in the field of advanced mobility. Prominent examples of these investments include the $52.2 million Global Epicenter for Mobility (GEM) federal grant program in Detroit and the establishment of the state of Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification. It will also build on the infusion of resources made available after the pandemic – such as the Michigan Reconnect and local Promise tuition assistance programs\, the growth in apprenticeship programs\, employer-led talent initiatives\, and client-centered and trauma-informed workforce development programs. We hope that attendees will examine these opportunities to co-create strategies that promote greater equity and better outcomes across the board. \nThe symposium will feature: \n\n-Keynote speakers and presentations from industry leaders.\n-Panel discussions on critical topics like workforce development and access to capital.\n-Networking opportunities with key stakeholders in the advanced mobility space.\nNote: Space is limited for this event! \n
