Detroit Future City to Host Open House at New Implementation Office

The open house has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

WHAT: Open house at the Detroit Future City Implementation Office.

WHY: For the community to learn more about Detroit Future City’s 2014-2015 citywide priorities and be able to speak with Implementation Office staff who are currently working with partners on 31 active projects throughout the city.

WHEN: Wednesday March 12, 2014, 2:00-8:00 p.m.; Formal presentations at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Detroit Future City Implementation Office, 2990 W. Grand Blvd., Suite 2, Detroit MI 48202

WHO: Kenneth V. Cockrel, Jr., Executive Director, DFC Implementation Office and other key staff members.

BACKGROUND

The Detroit Future City Implementation Office was formed to be the steward of the DFC Strategic Framework Plan. It strategically coordinates actions and resources to maximize their impact and catalyze long-term capacity within all contributing stakeholders. The Implementation Office’s 2014-2015 priorities are:

  • Economic Growth Priority: Employ More Detroiters
  • Land Use Priority: Fulfill Regulatory Reform
  • City Systems Priority: Renew Systems Strategically and Innovatively
  • Neighborhoods Priority: Stabilize Neighborhoods
  • Land and Building Assets Priority: Transform Vacant Land into an Innovative Open Space Network
